1994
Ledgers is conceptualized by a team of Professional Accountants in Sydney NS when the need for consistent, professional and affordable bookkeeping services is recognized.
After a preliminary investigation, it was realized that the small business market struggled to afford the services available from the 'Big Firms', and the skills of the local 'bookkeeper' were inadequate.
The idea of high-quality, affordable bookkeeping services is born
1997
After 2 years of development, the first Ledgers franchise is awarded to Terry Bachmann in Moncton NB. Terry was instrumental in developing the marketing models, policies and procedures; some we still utilize today.
2000
In November of 2000, Ledgers is acquired by the current owner and moved to Newmarket ON
2005
We began re-branding, redesigned the logo, website and marketing materials.
We became 'Ledgers Professional Services' as the name Ledgers Professional Bookkeeping was too singular and did not reflect the suite of services we offered.
There are now 10 Franchise locations and Brand Awareness is increasing.
2008
Our 25th franchise location is awarded.
The Ledgers SureStart™ Program is created, drawing the attention of other franchise systems.
The National Accounts Program begins
2013
Added the Golden Arch to the Ledgers Logo and moved to larger premises
Began investigating the use of Cloud Technology
Partnered with Intuit for QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online
2015
Fully adopted Cloud Based Technology with QuickBooks Online through our Partnership with Intuit.
Began looking at other cloud technology solutions to improve our service and efficiency
The Central Processing System was conceptualized
2019
Our 25th Anniversary year.
Central Processing has grown exponentially and is one of the key factors of our success; our franchises can process more client information in the same amount of time.
2020
We are Canada's #1 Full Service Accounting Franchise, with more than 50 locations across Canada.
The adaptation of 100% cloud-technology has made us stronger, allowing us to provide services to any business from anywhere.
2022
COVID made us stronger! Our growth over the past 2 years is unprecedented.
We are hosting our Annual Conference this year in Toronto!
